Pratibha Rai (born 21 January 1943) is an Indian Odia-language writer. She is the first Odia woman writer to receive the Jnanpith Award. She is the fourth Odia and seventh female writer in India to be honored with the Jnanpith Award. She won the Sharla Award in 1990 and the first woman statue in the country in 1991 for her book “Yajnaseni” (1985). The book was later translated into seven languages.Her first novel, Barsha Basanta and Baishakh, was well-received by readers in 1974.
