Just as a preface is essential for a temple, so is a preface to an essential novel. ‘Bhanumati’ is a character.Since the 1980s I have created many character novels based on the ‘Ramayana’ ‘Mahabharata’ and humbly admit that he has been especially admired by countless readers. Even many novels have reached the third edition.I thank the reader for this. Some writers have been influenced by this innovative style of mine and have created mythological character novels. They did not admit it, but I have come to know and rejoice that two holy, excellent books, such as the ‘Mahabharata’ and the ‘Ramayana’, have thus been included in the discussion. The great book, which is the source of two Aryan traditions, Indian culture and civilization; Which has enriched, nurtured, and nurtured Indian public life for thousands of years.
This ‘Bhanumati’ of mine has been created based on the Vyasakruta Mahabharata. It also describes a number of issues in the Sarala Mahabharata, especially in places, such as the issue of Duryodhana’s bloodshed. The intensity of the appeal of that issue deeply touches me. In a novel, the connection of imagination with truth is an inevitable consequence. In mythological characters, the limits of creation are narrower. The Ganges is not to be reversed. It is necessary to connect the imagination with the technique by keeping the mythical narrative intact.
In the Mahabharata of Vyasa, there are innumerable characters, the flow of countless events. All of this has bothered me a lot over the years. Not only the main character, but also the secondary characters seem invaluable to me. ‘Bhanumati’ is also a secondary character in the original Mahabharata, while that main character is a half-sister of Duryodhana! That’s where Vyasa’s writing is silent, the answer to my concerns. My research mind is anxious to explore that character. How is this possible? Is it possible for the wife of a violent man to be so inactive? In the courtyard of the Hastina Palace, unified with the emptiness of his life with his emotions, his joys, his sorrows, his attainments, is he a mere mourning of sacrifice, bitterness, loyalty, loneliness, anger? Has there never been a revolt in his heart? How many questions remained unanswered while he struggled with himself, how many answers remained unanswered. ‘Bhanumati’ is the story of that mental struggle that I saw with my own eyes, that pain of dissatisfaction, that tearful image of that squeaky and squeaky heart.
