Creating a ‘History of Oriya Literature’ is a laborious task. The full history of Oriya literature has not yet been compiled, and what has happened is only partial. Oriya language, literature above all the collection of the history of Oriya culture is our first major national work.The nation that lacks all these things goes on to say that the nation has nothing Our government and universities are striving for the overall betterment of the Oriya language and literature.The evolution of the Oriya language at the government and university level is bringing about a dramatic change in the cultural role of the nation. It is not at all unreasonable to think that the future of the Oriya language and literature of the future is very glorious. There is no shortage of elements in ancient and modern Oriya literature to compose the history of Oriya literature; But a lot of invaluable elements are being wasted from the country due to lack of effort. The collection and maintenance of all these elements is underway at the university and government levels. Due to the lack of proper research, many valuable items are not available to us. Writing the history of Oriya literature is an important issue. There are so many types it’s hard to say.

Ever since I started working in the Oriya department of Utkal University, I have been interested in compiling the history of Oriya language and literature. Utkal University has been collecting a lot of money ‘History of Odisha’. This is a good thing. But at the same time, it is our duty to write a full history of Oriya literature.In this short period of time the first volume of the history of Oriya literature – Prak Sarla Sahitya, the second volume – Sarala Yuga, the third volume – Panchasakha Yuga was published. The next sections will try to give a history of poetry and modern age literature. Attempts will be made to include Utkal University manuscripts, other government libraries and many hidden elements in the private collection in this history.
